Job Summary

As an Ambulance Driver, the safety of patients and crew are in your hands. You will be part of a 2-men or 3-men team providing safe and efficient ambulance transport for those in need. You will carry out operator-level maintenance of the vehicles including cleanliness and routine safety inspections to ensure the vehicles are in good working conditions before use. LTA requirements and Traffic Police regulations for road safety must be observed at all times. Hope provides professional training for Ambulance Drivers, where you can be certified as a medic.

Responsibilities

• Drive ambulances safely and promptly to respond to emergency and non-emergency activations across a range of cases
• Assist paramedics in providing care to patients during transport as directed
• Support patients and respond to emergencies alongside the crew when advised by paramedics
• Perform cleaning, decontamination, and routine safety inspections of ambulances and equipment to maintain operational readiness
• Conduct preventive maintenance and servicing of vehicles and report faults or defects promptly to the Fleet Manager
• Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to ensure ambulances are ready for use and initiate service or repairs following company protocols
• Safely operate different ambulance models across various road conditions while complying with traffic laws, LTA requirements, and company driving protocols
• Monitor and plan driving routes efficiently based on current road conditions

Required competencies and certifications

• Possess a valid Singapore Class 3 or 4 driving licence
• Maintain a good driving record with at least 3 years of driving experience

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Defensive Driving License
• First Aid Trained or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (training will be provided if not already certified)
• Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with all levels of staff
• Physically fit and able to work irregular shifts including weekends and public holidays
• Relevant working experience in SAF or SCDF
