Aircraft Mechanic

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

Assist the Ground/ Duty Engineer with the (technical) handling on a line station and station related activities.

Reports to the Maintenance Manager Singapore

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical Handling and Aircraft Maintenance

. Performs technical handling activities and tasks as instructed

. Assists the Engineer to carry out repairs on aircraft (in case of technical activities under supervision of a Ground/Duty Engineer), compliant with the technical requirements and customer demands

. Reports (technical) irregularities and progress of work performed to Engineer or Maintenance Manager

. Assists the Engineer with aircraft inspections & documentations

. Assists the Engineer with analysing defects and complaints (trouble shooting)

. Supervise mechanics in his charge in carrying out the works and duties assigned

. Brake rider activities for towing.

2. Maintenance and control of equipment, tools, stores and overall station activities

. Performs minor repairs and cleaning activities on tools and equipment

. Assists in keeping the store and station tidy and compliant with the rules and regulations

. Carry out station related activities and task assigned as delegated

. Identifies local opportunities for new contracts

The responsibilities and tasks of the position are not limited to the above mentioned and change might occur in concert with direct Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE and COMPETENCIES

Knowledge and Experience

. Basic technical aircraft training

. Command of English (write, read, speak)

. Knowledge of apron / aircraft safety rules and regulations

. Knowledge of technical requirements and customer demands

. Knowledge of non-technical handling procedures and instructions

. Ability to read, understand and execute maintenance manual instructions
