PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
To carry out, or supervise, inspections, maintenance, testing and checks according to the rules and procedures in order to release the aircraft to service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspections
To carry out or supervise technical handling of an aircraft, within the scheduled ground time, according current carriers instructions
Activities:
- Performs the checklist according to the aircraft type and carriers instructions
- Inspects the performed duties
- Signs the required logbook ( e.g. AML/CML + BOW) for maintenance release
Analyzing Defects and Complaints
Activities:
- Checks pre-arrival information on aircraft status, from crew and/or Maintenance Control Center
- Contact flight crew directly after arrival for debriefing
- Checks logbooks for open items
- Analyses defects and complaints (trouble shooting)
- Decides if defects and complaints can be deferred or rectified immediately
- Informs and consults home base and Maintenance Manager or duty Engineer/Service Manager/Operations/Crew upon actions to be taken
Repair, Technical Handling and Modifications
(to carry out or supervise maintenance and repairs of the aircraft)
Activities:
- Ensures availability of work instructions (checklist)
- Ensures correct and adequate stock control (spare parts and materials) and maintenance of ground equipment (if applicable), in accordance with company procedures
- Plans and organizes the repair process and deploys Mechanics
- Performs or supervises repairs and technical handling
- Communicates with home base and Service Manager/Operations/Crew about the progress of the repair or the modification process.
- Inspects the repairs and modifications
- Perform flight duties or relief duties to other station when required
Administration
Activities:
- Performs all administration related to the technical handling of the carrier, according to instructions by the carrier
- Updates Station Information File
- Carry out station related tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager
Supervision of Mechanics
Activities:
- Checks if duties are performed under safe conditions
- Trains Mechanics
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE and COMPETENCIES
Knowledge and Experience
- Is holding EASA B1 or B1/2 AML
- Is certifying staff according to EASA 66 Cat. B1 or B1/2
- Possess either or multiple ratings of A320, A330, A350, B777, B744, B787
- Preferably has at least 2 years of experience as a certifying engineer
- Reads, writes and speaks English
- Has sufficient knowledge about specific operator and type-procedures including customer demands
- Has the proven ability to quickly and accurately identify more complex issues and problems that require thorough analysis
- Is able to envisage the broader consequences of various decisions
- Is able to arrive at a sound judgement in the face of conflicting facts and ambiguous information
