Job Description

The AI4X Postdoctoral Fellowship supports outstanding early-career researchers who leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate breakthroughs across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, including medicine (STEM). Through the AI4X-PDF, we seek to nurture the next generation of research leaders working at the intersection of AI and STEM, driving innovation and strengthening Singapore's AI-for-Science ecosystem.

The candidate is expected to conduct the following research works

  • Develop and validate finite element model of protonic ceramic electrolysers (PCECs)

  • Develop generative AI models for the design of electrolysers.

  • Perform AI-Driven design of novel flow fields for PCECs.

  • Draft and submit high-impact journal publications based on the novel findings of the research

  • Prepare patent applications for the innovative frameworks and designs developed in the programme

  • Manage the project timeline and collaborate with other research staff to address technical challenges.

  • Regularly report progress

Job Requirements:

  • A PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field

  • Strong knowledge of electrochemistry and multiphysics modelling in electrochemical systems (specifically PCECs).

  • Proven experience in developing and validating numerical models (e.g., using COMSOL).

  • Hands-on experience with programming for numerical optimization, machine learning, and data processing (Python/MATLAB).

  • Capability to manage a multi-phase, interdisciplinary project with clear milestones and deliverables.

  • Excellent academic writing and presentation skills to draft publications, reports, and present findings
