As an AI Strategy Lead (Strategic Public Sector), you will lead the formulation and execution of enterprise-level AI and data science strategy for high-stakes public sector organisations. You will shape how AI and data science are applied across government entities, influencing national-level outcomes through high-accuracy, decision-critical solutions. You will work closely with senior stakeholders while remaining hands-on with delivery teams, ensuring strategies are practical, trusted, ethically sound, and resilient within sensitive government environments.

What will you do

AI & Enterprise Strategy

• Define and deliver enterprise-wide AI and data science strategies aligned to national and organisational priorities.
• Translate complex policy, regulatory, and operational contexts into actionable AI roadmaps with clear strategic value.
• Guide the use of high-accuracy modelling and advanced analytics for mission-critical decision-making.

Public Sector Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement

• Navigate complex, high-security client environments to advise senior government stakeholders with confidence and discretion.
• Influence executive and policy-level decision-making through clear, credible, and ethical AI recommendations.

Leadership & Delivery Excellence

• Lead by example with a hands-on approach, working alongside teams in challenging delivery environments.
• Uphold and role-model strong values of integrity, ownership, and accountability in all engagements.
• Build resilient teams capable of operating under pressure and ambiguity.

Ethical & Responsible AI

• Ensure AI strategies and solutions adhere to ethical AI principles, governance standards, and public trust expectations.
• Address risks related to bias, explainability, and accountability in sensitive use cases.
  
  

The ideal candidate should possess:

• 12+ years of experience in high-pressure environments such as financial institutions or investment-linked government bodies.
• Proven track record in formulating and delivering enterprise-level AI or data science strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in sensitive, high-security public sector contexts.
• Strong personal character, resilience, and judgment when handling confidential and high-impact matters.
