AI Model Risk Analyst / AI Model Risk Specialist / AI Model Risk Manager

Role Description

The AI Model Risk Analyst / AI Model Risk Specialist / AI Model Risk Manager assesses risks associated with AI models and their business use. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, evaluating validation evidence, identifying limitations, monitoring performance, and tracking corrective actions with model owners and governance teams.

The Analyst performs assessments and reporting. The Specialist conducts deeper technical reviews and develops assessment methods, while the Manager sets oversight priorities, leads teams, and coordinates model approvals, escalations, and risk reporting within established governance processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Risk Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in model validation, AI governance, quantitative analysis, data science, or technology risk.
• Understanding of model development, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
• Ability to assess data quality, robustness, bias, explainability, and performance limitations.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or comparable analytical tools appropriate to the position.
• Ability to evaluate testing evidence, challenge assumptions, and document clear conclusions.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical risks to business and governance stakeholders.
• For analyst positions, experience supporting model inventories, risk assessments, monitoring, and issue tracking.
• For specialist positions, experience independently reviewing models, testing failure scenarios, and assessing controls and intended use.
• For manager positions, proven experience leading risk reviews, maintaining oversight frameworks, and coordinating remediation and escalation decisions.
