BuildBob provides construction developers with powerful predictive intelligence, designed to keep projects on schedule and within budget. We leverage AI agents to analyze real-time communications, cross-check core project documents, identify hidden risks, and prevent costly delays.

BuildBob is looking for an AI Engineer to play a pivotal role in developing and scaling our AI-powered predictive intelligence platform. You will be instrumental in building the AI agents and systems that analyze complex construction data, identify potential issues, and provide actionable insights to our users. You'll work at the intersection of AI research and production engineering to create robust, scalable, and impactful solutions.

Our core technology stack includes PostgreSQL, Qdrant, Nest.js, and Next.js.

What can you expect

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents that analyze construction communications and documents to surface risks and insights.

• Develop and optimize RAG pipelines using Qdrant and LLMs to enable intelligent document retrieval and analysis.

• Fine-tune and evaluate language models for domain-specific construction use cases.

• Build robust prompt engineering frameworks and evaluation systems to ensure consistent, high-quality AI outputs.

• Collaborate with engineers to integrate AI capabilities seamlessly into the BuildBob platform.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the technical direction of our AI systems.

We're looking for someone who/with

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.

• Experience building agentic AI systems or multi-agent workflows.

• Strong hands-on experience with LLMs, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation.

• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with TypeScript/Node.js.

• Experience with vector databases and RAG architectures.

• Understanding of ML fundamentals including embeddings, similarity search, and model evaluation.

• Excellent English oral and written communication skills.

• A passion for applied AI and tackling interesting technical challenges.

We'll prefer someone with

• Professional experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in production.

• Familiarity with the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) technology sector.

• Background in MLOps practices including model monitoring, versioning, and deployment pipelines.
