Job Description

[What the role is]

Research Assistant

[What you will be working on]

Assist the project leader and co-project leaders to achieve the aims of the research project.
Develop and train machine learning models to analyse environmental and plant physiological data for aeroponic system optimization.
Design and implement IoT-based sensor networks for real-time data acquisition, monitoring, and system control.
Process, clean, analyse, and interpret large datasets related to plant growth, nutrient uptake, and environmental parameters.
Integrate AI algorithms with automation systems for dynamic control of aeroponic system.
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and progress updates aligned with project milestones.
Work closely with the Research Engineer and other team members to translate experimental findings into algorithm refinement.
Supervise and guide students involved in AI and IoT components of the project.
Manage procurement processes, including liaising with vendors, sourcing materials, equipment, and testing supplies, and raising purchase requests.
Document and track project issues, expenses, budget, action logs, and equipment maintenance.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Project Leader.
