Agile Coach

Required Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of experience in agile delivery, agile coaching, scrum mastering or delivery

leadership, including significant experience coaching multiple teams in enterprise or

regulated environments.

• Deep, practical mastery of agile frameworks and methods, including Scrum, Kanban

and scaled approaches such as SAFe, LeSS or Scrum@Scale, with the judgement to

adapt rather than apply them dogmatically.

• Strong experience coaching product owners and product teams on backlog

management, outcome-based prioritisation, roadmap shaping and value delivery.

• Ability to coach at individual, team and organisational levels, meeting people where

they are and tailoring interventions to context, maturity and constraints.

• Strong facilitation skills across planning, retrospectives, workshops, conflict resolution

and cross-team coordination.

• Experience establishing and interpreting delivery metrics (flow, cycle time,

predictability, quality, team health) to drive continuous improvement.

• Familiarity with modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, automation,

DevOps culture, engineering excellence and product operating models.

• Strong understanding of governance, compliance and delivery assurance in regulated

settings, and the ability to reconcile agility with accountability and auditability.

• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the

ability to coach and challenge senior leaders, technical teams and non-technical

stakeholders.

• Comfortable working in an ambiguous, evolving, product-oriented environment where

ways of working are improved incrementally through feedback.

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating in Government Commercial Cloud, public sector or regulated

enterprise environments.

• Recognised agile certifications such as CSP, PSM II/III, ICP-ACC, ICP-ENT, SAFe

SPC or equivalent coaching credentials.

• Experience coaching squads that blend permanent staff and augmented resources

across onshore and offshore delivery models.

• Exposure to platform engineering, developer experience, internal platforms and

golden-path adoption from a delivery-enablement perspective.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira, Azure Boards or equivalent tooling for

backlog, flow and delivery visualisation.

• Experience designing agile transformation roadmaps, capability-building programmes,

communities of practice and coaching operating models.

• Understanding of AI-enabled product delivery and how agile practices adapt to data,

ML and AI product development.
