Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Agency Trade, you will ensure (1) accurate trade forecasting & performance management; (2) optimization of cargo mix, allocation & space utilization; (3) supporting sales & driving commercial execution as well as (4) act as the trade coordination hub.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Strategy & Performance Management

  • Analyze vessel profiles and review sales forecasts prepared by the team.
  • Coordinate adjustments with RO/HO Lines when vessel profile or forecast gaps occur.
  • Submit accurate weekly sales forecasts and performance reports for management review.
  • Optimize cargo mix and vessel filling factor (CSA, COA, LTL).
  • Maintain awareness of market developments and competitors activity.

Pricing & Allocation Management

  • Manage and coordinate allocation to optimize space utilization.
  • Escalate pricing, routing, or policy issues to Lines.
  • Adjust pricing strategy based on Agency Trade team feedback and market trends.
  • Validate ESR created via Traffic Light system (ownership: ATM).

Sales Support & Commercial Coordination

  • Identify new business potential for the Sales team to convert into revenue growth.
  • Provide clear and actionable sales objectives based on vessel profiles.
  • Request customer feedback through Sales / CS to stay updated on market sentiment.
  • Address commercial and trade-related issues raised by Agency Trade Managers (if managing team).

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Ensure timely communication with HO/RO trade, Cargoflow, Agency Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Provide short-term commercial priorities to internal departments.
  • Align with agencies on targeted volumes in relation to the vessel profile.

Reporting and Market Intelligence

  • Accurate & timely submission of forecasts and reports
  • Keep abreast of global and regional market trends.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Shipping, Transportation, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in trade related roles in container shipping
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (such as Excel)
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Adaptable and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
