About the Role
Designation: Advocate, Social Media & Multimedia Storytelling
Reporting to: Head, Communications &Engagement
We are seeking an experienced social-first communications professional to strengthen Temasek Trust's storytelling across digital and social channels.
The successful candidate will translate our purpose, partnerships, and impact into compelling, audience-focused content, combining strategic social media management with hands-on multimedia production, particularly short-form video. They should be an independent, editorially strong storyteller who can identify opportunities, shape narratives, advise stakeholders and bring stories to life - from strategy and copy to filming and editing.
Key Responsibilities
Social media strategy and channel management
. Own Temasek Trust's social media and digital storytelling strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and relevant emerging platforms.
. Develop and manage an integrated content calendar spanning campaigns, events, leadership communications, partnerships and impact stories
. Identify opportunities across the Temasek Trust Collective, translating complex organisational work, programmes, partnerships and announcements into clear, engaging and platform-native narratives.
Multimedia storytelling and video production
. Conceptualise, shoot and edit social-first multimedia content, particularly short-form video, including interviews, reels, explainers, event content and impact stories.
. Edit platform-specific content with strong understanding of hooks, pacing, captions, sound, thumbnails and vertical formats.
. Work with external filmmakers, photographers and production partners when higher-production-value work is required.
Content development and engagement
. Develop clear, engaging content that makes complex work accessible to different target audiences.
. Monitor comments, mentions and sentiment, escalating sensitive issues appropriately.
. Build strong relationships across communications, programme, partnership and leadership teams to support approvals, alignment and a strong content pipeline.
Performance and optimisation
. Use social media metrics, audience insights and platform trends to improve content performance, formats, and publishing cadence.
. Work with agencies to plan, manage, optimise, and report paid social campaigns.
Requirements
. 8-10 years of relevant experience in social media, digital communications, content strategy, journalism, multimedia production or marketing communications.
. Proven experience owning social media channels and content strategies for an organisation.
. Strong editorial judgement, writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to develop clear, compelling content for digital and social audiences.
. Hands-on video production capability, including filming and editing short-form, mobile-first content.
. Strong understanding of LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant platforms and their audiences.
. Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent.
. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple stories, stakeholders and deadlines independently.
. Degree or diploma in communications, journalism, marketing or a related discipline preferred.
Portfolio Expectations
Candidates should provide a portfolio or showreel demonstrating social-first storytelling, short-form video and platform-specific content. The portfolio should demonstrate strong storytelling, editorial judgement and the candidate's personal involvement in story development, filming, editing and/or creative direction. Candidates should be prepared to explain their specific contribution to the work presented.
