Job Description

Job Purpose

Support the sales function to focus on selling and closing deals and generating new leads. Execution of complex research and market analysis, outreach to qualify prospects as sales opportunities, communication with prospects around APL Logistics&apos offerings, and deliver high-quality opportunities to the relevant Business Development Team.

Roles & Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting

  • Conduct market research for high-profile potential customer accounts to identify relevant decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization.
  • Advise the BD support team and BD team regarding strategy in approaching potential customers and the wider market, based on comprehensive market reviews.
  • Identify and support initiatives to reach out to existing customers and identify new opportunities on a regular basis.
  • Communicate with high-profile prospects about APL Logistics solutions to convert them into active leads.

Sales Opportunities Creation

  • Work closely with Operations to ensure infrastructure for potential pipeline is in place.
  • Maintain oversight of the commercial pipeline to identify potential upcoming large size and complex new business acquisitions.
  • Work closely with the BD team to understand the state of the sales pipeline and the specifics of potential new clients in order to prepare to meet their needs.
  • Drive hunting for new business through extensive market research and lead generation, measured against pipeline and conversion targets.
  • Develop leads via telephone, email, events, and social media platforms to identify relevant buyers within the target market audience.
  • Uncover customers&apos and prospects interests to develop into solid sales opportunities for the BD team.

Qualification

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in sales/sales support and logistics.

Skills

  • Good analytical skills to interpret market data and trends effectively.
  • Process management/improvement experience to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Project management skills to oversee initiatives and ensure timely execution.
