Adjunct Associate Professor

ASE, in collaboration with CoHASS, invites applications for an Adjunct Associate Professor position at NTU. The course will draw on faculty expertise and students from across NTU's colleges, including CoS, CoHASS, and NBS. In addition to the undergraduate course, the appointee will contribute to executive education programmes and engagement activities that communicate our research to non-specialist audiences and external stakeholders.

  • Develop curriculum and teaching materials that make ASE research - including work on climate variability, soil science, landscape change, and natural hazards - accessible and relevant to students from diverse academic backgrounds.
  • Develop curriculum and teaching materials that draw on CoHASS disciplines - including cultural geography, history, anthropology, and the social study of food and consumption - to illuminate wine as a lens for understanding human societies and their relationship with the natural world.
  • Contribute to executive education programmes addressing the intersection of environmental change, land use, culture and fine wine, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Support engagement activities with external stakeholders, including prospective donors and industry partners, through curated events, masterclasses, and dinners that communicate ASE and CoHASS science in compelling and accessible formats.
  • Collaborate with faculty across ASE, CoHASS, NBS, and other NTU schools to strengthen interdisciplinary educational programming in this topic and build cross-school academic relationships.

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience spanning the commercial, communications, and educational dimensions of the wine industry, including substantial direct experience in the Asia-Pacific market.
  • Demonstrated track record as a wine educator, including design and delivery of formal accredited courses at professional or institutional levels (e.g. WSET Level 3+ or equivalent).
