Actuarial Analyst - 24 months

About the role

An established organisation in the insurance industry is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join its team on a 2-year contract. This position offers an opportunity to develop practical actuarial expertise through involvement in financial modelling, data analysis, risk assessment and actuarial reporting, while collaborating with experienced professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in actuarial calculations, financial modelling and quantitative analysis.
• Support the preparation of actuarial reports, financial projections and management presentations.
• Perform data extraction, validation and analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Assist with pricing, valuation, reserving and experience studies, where applicable.
• Support the review and monitoring of actuarial assumptions and business performance.
• Participate in actuarial model testing, documentation and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Risk Management and other business functions.
• Undertake additional actuarial analysis and projects as required.

About you

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good attention to detail, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Prior actuarial experience is not required; relevant experience in quantitative analysis or the insurance industry will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python, R or actuarial modelling tools will be advantageous.
• Progress towards professional actuarial qualifications (SOA, IFoA or equivalent) will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
