Job Description

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant is responsible formanaging the full spectrum of accounts payable functions, supporting offshore drilling operations.

This role ensures timely and accurate processing ofinvoices, vendor payments, and reconciliations, while supporting project costcontrol and compliance

The incumbent will work closely with onshore and offshorestakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations and support businesscontinuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process high-volume invoices related to offshore drillingoperations (e.g. rig services, logistics, fuel, marine support)
  • Review and verify invoices against purchase orders,contracts, and service records
  • Manage invoice approval workflows across departments andoffshore teams
  • Perform accurate cost coding to project, rig, or cost centre
  • Prepare payment vouchers and ensure timely vendor payments
  • Monitor and clear accounts payable balances, includingageing items
  • Project & Offshore Cost Control
  • Track and allocate costs to specific rigs, wells, oroffshore projects
  • Work closely with Operations, Procurement, and Logisticsteams to ensure accurate cost capture
  • Identify discrepancies, duplicate billings, or non-compliantcharges
  • Support budget monitoring and provide AP data for costcontrol reporting
  • Liaise with vendors and offshore service providers oninvoicing and payment matters
  • Ensure invoices comply with contractual terms and supportingdocumentation
  • Maintain vendor master data and support onboarding of newvendors
  • Prepare monthly AP ageing reports and follow up onoutstanding items
  • Perform vendor statement reconciliations and accountreconciliations (including 2350)
  • Support month-end closing, including accruals for unbilledoffshore services
  • Ensure compliance with external and internal policies
  • Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Adhere to procurement policies and approval limits
  • Support Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE)practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve AP processes andefficiency
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Master or Degree in Accounting, Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in AP for oil & gas/offshore industry
  • Familiar with accounting principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
