What you'll do:
As an Accounts Executive in Singapore, you will support the financial control department through meticulous execution of daily accounting functions.
- Prepare day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations accurately and on time.
- Handle regulatory reporting by ensuring statutory and regulatory reports are submitted accurately and promptly.
- Complete month-end closing activities, including amortisation of prepayments and raising journal entries within deadlines.
- Monitor, review, and post monthly accruals while addressing queries related to expenditure accounting and provision accounts.
- Maintain the accounts payable ledger, ensuring accurate transaction recording and timely vendor payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently.
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns and quarterly income and expenditure reports to relevant authorities.
- Coordinate head office reporting with regional finance teams in Hong Kong to align accounting standards and control procedures.
- Adhere to finance policies based on regulatory requirements (CMSL) and international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders, including business units, control teams, auditors, regulators, management, and global finance functions.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives, including supporting automation projects and implementing efficiency enhancements.
- Perform other finance-related tasks or projects, including ad hoc reporting and analysis.
What you bring:
Your proven experience in accounting roles within regulated financial environments will be invaluable as an Accounts Executive. You bring not only technical expertise but also interpersonal skills that enable you to build dependable relationships across various stakeholder groups.
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least three years of relevant experience in accounting roles within regulated environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word) and general IT literacy.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting processes and capital requirement frameworks under CMSL is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of local Singaporean regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS).
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams, auditors, regulators, and management.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
