Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an accounts assistant to join Hawksburn Heritage on a 6-month contract. This is a junior-level opportunity suitable for a fresh graduate, a current accounting student, or someone looking to gain practical hands-on experience in accounting and finance.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including data entry, transaction processing, reconciliations and month-end activities.
Location: City Hall/ Bugis
Working Hours: 5-day work week, Mondays to Fridays, from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enter accurate and timely data into the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records.
- Assist with month-end closing activities.
- Record and process business transactions using double-entry accounting principles.
- Process transactions relating to accruals and prepayments.
- Record transactions relating to purchases, receivables, payables and cash.
- Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
- Retrieve and prepare accounting system reports for management use.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting entries where required.
- Support the finance team with other accounting and administrative duties as required.
- Use relevant IT systems and tools effectively for accounting and data analysis.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or currently pursuing a qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Fresh graduates and candidates with limited working experience are welcome to apply.
- Candidates currently pursuing ACCA, CPA or an Accounting & Finance degree are also welcome.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel familiarity with CSV files would be advantageous.
- Experience with MYOB and/or Xero would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
