Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in bookkeeping, hands-on experience with Xero, and the ability to handle high-volume transactions and inventory reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
. Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests with strict attention to accuracy.
. Issue sales invoices, track incoming payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.
. Reconcile customer and supplier statements.
. Bank & Inventory Reconciliation
. Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts (including multicurrency).
. Assist with reconciliation of physical inventory against sales and purchases, ensuring discrepancies are flagged promptly.
Xero Management
. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Xero, including chart of accounts management, bank feeds,and transaction coding.
. Assist with preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries.
GST & Compliance
. Prepare quarterly Submissions in compliance with IRAS requirements.
. Support finance manager with audit schedules and year-end closing processes.
Administrative Support
. Maintain proper filing systems for all financial documents (both digital and physical).
. Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and suppliers.
Requirements
Education
. Diploma in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent.
. LCCI or partial ACCA qualification is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience (fresh graduates may be considered).
Technical Skills
. Proficiency in Xero is preferred.
. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic functions).
. Familiarity with basic accounting principles and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
Soft Skills
. High level of accuracy and attention to detail-essential for handling high-value transactions.
. Strong organizational and time management skills to meet month-end deadlines.
. Good communication skills in English (both written and spoken) for liaising with internal and external parties.
. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small finance team.
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
. Experience handling multicurrency transactions (USD, SGD, etc.).
. Knowledge of IRAS regulations specific to precious metals (e.g., GST rules for investment-grade bullion).
