Job Description

Accounts Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the finance team in handling day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of basic accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial records and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices, follow up on outstanding receivables, and monitor collections.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances.

General Accounting

  • Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and ledgers.
  • Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules.

Expense & Claims Processing

  • Verify and process staff claims in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place for all reimbursements.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Administrative Support

  • Support the finance team with general administrative duties.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external parties such as vendors and auditors when required.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • LCCI or equivalent accounting certification is an advantage.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience handling accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in handling full sets of accounts is an advantage.
  • Experience in multi-entity or group company environments is preferred.
