Job Summary
Join WINGS Therapy and Learning Center as an Accountant to lead comprehensive financial management functions that ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic support for our mission-driven organisation's growth and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts to support informed decision-making.
- Reconcile bank statements and ledgers, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain financial accuracy.
- Generate and distribute patient invoices promptly to optimize cash flow and maintain up-to-date receivables.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue accounts, and maintain detailed aging reports to reduce payment delays.
- Respond to patient enquiries regarding invoices, reissuance, and payment matters to ensure clear communication and resolution.
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments to maintain strong supplier relationships and avoid service disruptions.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to uphold accurate financial records.
- Review vendor contracts to verify accurate reflection of terms in financial documentation and compliance.
- Monitor cash outflows to maintain healthy cash balances and support operational needs.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register by recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation to ensure accurate asset tracking.
- Conduct periodic asset verifications to confirm physical existence and condition of assets.
- Prepare and submit statutory filings including GST, Annual Returns, and Income Tax to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, and regulators to facilitate audits and compliance processes.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of employee costs to support timely and compliant compensation.
- Liaise with bankers on loans and repayments to manage funding obligations effectively.
- Identify and apply for relevant government or social agency grants to support financial resources.
- Provide financial insights by analysing cost structures and profitability to recommend actions that enhance financial performance.
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles applied to financial management and reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software ( Xero) to manage financial transactions and reporting.
- Advanced skills in MS Office to support data analysis and reporting.
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills to maintain financial integrity.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- CPA or equivalent certification as an added professional qualification.
