Job Description

Job Summary

The accountant reports to the Group Finance Manager/Group Accountant for financial matters & reporting, and Deputy General Manager of the company for daily operational activities. The candidate is responsible for full spectrum of accounting and financing functions of Singapore company and its Taiwan branch, timely and accurate month end & financial year end closing and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review staff claims and supplier payments to ensure accuracy and compliance, managing payment cycle runs to maintain timely disbursements
  • Monitor outstanding debts and provide regular status updates to the Deputy General Manager to support cash flow management
  • Collaborate with logistics and operations teams quarterly to review inventory aging and optimize stock management
  • Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and logistics teams monthly to update project Work-In-Progress (WIP) costing for accurate financial tracking
  • Maintain organized documentation and filing systems to support audit readiness and efficient information retrieval
  • Prepare and review cash flow positions and forecasts to inform financial planning and decision-making
  • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate and compliant financial records
  • Develop management reports and schedules, including fixed asset registers, balance sheet reconciliations, and costing schedules, to support financial analysis
  • Prepare quarterly GST reconciliations and reports for timely submission to regulatory authorities
  • Prepare quarterly budgets and forecasts for both Singapore entity and Taiwan branch to support strategic financial planning
  • Review Taiwan branch financial results and schedules, liaising with Taiwan bookkeeping company and team to ensure accuracy and alignment
  • Consolidate Singapore and Taiwan financial results to provide comprehensive group financial reporting
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports to headquarters
  • Respond promptly to queries from head office to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and bankers, addressing their requests and queries during audits to ensure smooth audit processes
  • Review and enhance internal financial policies and procedures to align with headquarters standards and improve operational efficiency
  • Manage administrative tasks such as arranging documents for directors signatures and handling miscellaneous activities to support daily operations

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent, with CA qualification preferred

  • Have manufacturing or construction experience, familiar with milestone billing & costing

  • Strong analytical skills with good understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards

  • Display strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Able to be quick to pick up software programmes
