Job purpose
The accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial duties, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing daily operational tasks, performing reconciliations, and assisting with period-end closing processes.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain monthly AR and AP Aging Reports.
- Maintain monthly Balance Sheet schedules and reconciliation
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including Right-of-Use (ROU) asset computation in compliance with SFRS.
- Prepare, maintain, and document journal entries/ operational accruals substantiated with supporting documents
- Prepare the overheads cost file and relevant accruals.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies between SAP Transportation Module and FI (Financial Accounting Module).
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile financial transactions.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Prepare all required government surveys.
- Manage banking administrative matters, including performing monthly bank reconciliations.
Education requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting
2. Professional certification (preferred):
- Chartered Accountant of Singapore (CA Singapore), or
- ACCA or equivalent
Language requirements
- English (must)
- Chinese (optional)
Background and experience
- At least 2 years of audit experience
- At least 1 year working experience in commercial or MNC
- Experience in container shipping is a plus point
Competencies and skills
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, data analysis).
- Familiarity with tax laws, audit processes, and financial forecasting
