The Company

Our client, a leader in the maritime transportation industry with global presence is looking for an Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.

The Role

You will support the Fleet Management function, focusing on financial reporting, budgeting, and operational accounting for vessels. The role involves preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts with detailed analysis on vessel operating expenses and management costs, as well as consolidating financial results across the group to support audits and reporting requirements. You will oversee key accounting areas including fixed assets (vessel capex and drydock projects), charter hire, bunker inventory, and insurance provisions, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and maintaining accurate records in SAP. In addition, you will coordinate annual budgets and forecasts, analyze submissions, and prepare regular management reports such as flash reports and board presentations. The position also includes liaising with auditors, tax agents, and authorities on audit, GST, and regulatory matters, while driving continuous improvements in workflows, systems, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Your Profile

You should have a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification, with 4 years of relevant working experience. To succeed in this role, you should be proactive, have good attention to details, good communication skills and time management skills. Experience in SAP S4 Hana and prior audit experience in audit will be preferred.
