Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Restaurant Accountant to oversee all financial operations for our establishment. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate books, managing cash flow, and providing strategic insights to optimize profitability. The ideal candidate has a strong background in hospitality accounting and is proficient in integrating POS systems with accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Record-Keeping: Record daily sales transactions from Point of Sale (POS) systems and reconcile them with bank deposits and cash on hand.
  • Cost Control & Inventory: Monitor Prime Costs (Cost of Goods Sold + Labor). Conduct regular inventory audits and analyze variances in food and beverage stock to identify waste or theft.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process supplier invoices, verify pricing against purchase orders, and ensure timely payments while managing vendor credits for short-shipped or spoiled goods.
  • Payroll & Tips: Manage bi-weekly payroll, including the accurate distribution of tips (pooling or splits) and ensuring compliance with local labor and tax laws.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for management review.
  • Compliance: Ensure timely filing of sales tax, VAT (if applicable), and liquor license renewals. Maintain audit-ready documentation for year-end reviews.
