Accountant

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

- Handle day-to-day accounting operations for commodity trading and shipping entities, including bank transactions, accounts receivable(AR), accounts payable (AP) and reconciliations.

- Handle full sets of accounts for assigned entities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, accruals and month-end closing.

- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.

- Ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions.

2. Tax & Statutory Compliance

- Prepare GST returns and withholding tax filings.

- Liaise with external auditors and tax agents on audit and tax matters.

- Assist with statutory compliance and year-end audit requirements.

3. Other Responsibilities

- Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.

- Support improvements in accounting processes and internal controls.

- Perform other ad hoc finance and accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.

- Preferably at least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with experience in shipping, maritime or commodity trading industries being an advantage.

- Able to handle full sets of accounts with minimal supervision.

- Basic knowledge of Singapore GST, withholding tax and statutory reporting requirements.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

- Fluent in English and Mandarin to converse with stakeholders

- Detail-oriented, responsible and willing to learn.

- Good communication and organisational skills.
