Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain full sets of accounts including AP, AR and GL.
- Record and reconcile vessels-related transaction in accordance with company accounting invoices.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables from Japanese charterers.
- Perform month end closing activities, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
- Prepare vessel specific Profit & Loss statement and supporting schedules.
- Maintain vessel fixed assets register and calculation of depreciation.
- Track vessel capital expenditure and dry-docking costs.
- Work closely will all internal departments in Singapore such as Operations, Technical and Commercial teams for financial matters.
- Liaise between Accounting dept. in Singapore and Accounting dept. in Japan on financial matters.
- Liaise with Accounting System vendor in Japan for any troubleshooting or system upgrade.
- Prepare and compute IFRS 116 Lease schedule.
- Prepare drawdown request, loan servicing documentations and liaise with banks on loan related matters.
- Maintain accurate records of vessel loan facilities, including principle and interest schedules.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end schedules and consolidation package that are in Japanese language for submission to Head Office.
- Prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
- Liaise with the Japanese Bank regarding daily transactions for accounts maintained with the bank.
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
- Proficient in Japanese to communicate effectively with counterparts in Japan, both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, teamwork, problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
