Accountant (Management Reporting) - Energy Trading

This is one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world, and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to take on a management reporting role within the trading business unit, with responsibility for P&L reporting and performance management.


Role
Reporting to GM of Finance. The role manages consolidating inputs from business departments, and prepares accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L and management reports. It analyses financial and business performance, identifies key variances and drivers, and works closely with stakeholders to validate assumptions and explain results. The role also delivers clear insights and reporting to senior management and HQ, ensuring compliance with group reporting standards and internal controls.

Requirements
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accountancy or a related discipline and brings at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience. Prior exposure to a commodities trading company is a must. The role requires strong proficiency in accounting systems and Power BI, with the ability to deliver clear and effective data visualization is essential. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
