Job Description

Full-Stack Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking a versatile, highly organized, and detail-oriented Full-Stack Accountant to oversee end-to-end financial operations and manage our core accounting workstreams. In this role, you will be responsible for the full accounting cycle—from managing daily Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL) activities to delivering accurate month-end closes and comprehensive financial reports.

As a team leader, you will directly manage a team of accounting executives and administrative assistants, delegating operational tasks, establishing efficient workflows, and maintaining rigorous quality control across all financial administrative streams.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Ledger & Full-Cycle Accounting

  • Maintain and balance the General Ledger (GL), ensuring all business transactions are properly recorded, classified, and reconciled.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entry preparation, accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
  • Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and track depreciation schedules.

2. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) Oversight

  • Accounts Payable: Oversee vendor invoice processing, purchase order matching, payment run approvals, and vendor account reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable: Supervise invoicing, credit control, revenue recognition, payment allocations, and proactive collections management.
  • Monitor cash flow daily and maintain cash flow forecasts to optimize working capital.

3. Team Management & Operational Workstreams

  • Direct, mentor, and supervise accounting executives and admin assistants in their day-to-day tasks.
  • Establish clear SLAs, delegate AR/AP operational duties, and monitor workload distribution to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training gaps, and foster continuous team development.
  • Optimize administrative workflows, document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and drive process automation where applicable.

4. Reporting, Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows) for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax requirements, corporate filings, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., GST/VAT, payroll tax, corporate tax).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • 4–6+ years of hands-on, full-cycle accounting experience covering AR, AP, GL, and financial reporting.
  • 2+ years of direct experience supervising staff (executives, clerks, or administrative assistants).

2. Technical Skills

  • ERP & Software: Hands-on expertise in modern accounting ERPs and software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excel Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, INDEX/MATCH, dynamic arrays).
  • Process Automation: Familiarity with digital invoicing, document automation tools (e.g., Dext, Hubdoc, Bill.com), and payroll platforms.

3. Core Competencies

  • Leadership & Delegation: Ability to set clear priorities, manage team productivity, and hold direct reports accountable.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy standards.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate financial metrics clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
