Accountant (Construction Industry)

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our construction business. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of construction accounting, project costing, and compliance with Singapore financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts including AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation

• Manage project costing, budget tracking, and cost analysis for construction projects

• Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts, and cash flow forecasts

• Monitor and track project revenue and expenses (WIP, progress billing, etc.)

• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities

• Ensure compliance with IRAS, GST, and statutory requirements in Singapore

• Process payroll and CPF submissions (if required)

• Maintain proper documentation and financial controls

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction industry

• Familiar with construction accounting practices (e.g., project-based accounting)

• Knowledge of Singapore GST and tax regulations

• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB)

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

• Able to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling construction contracts and progress claims

• Knowledge of BCA or project compliance requirements

• Prior experience in SME environment is an advantage
