A well-established international maritime services organisation is seeking a reliable and hands-on Accountant to support its finance operations in Singapore and the wider Asia region.
Based in Singapore, you will support the local and regional finance function, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and business control support. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders and local management as part of a small, professional, and international team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Banking
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare payment documentation and support local and overseas bank transfers
- Perform regular vendor reconciliations
- Support weekly cashflow tracking and reporting
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Monitor bank receipts and maintain AR summaries
- Issue statements of account and follow up on outstanding payments
- Ensure accurate matching of receipts against open invoices
General Accounting & Administration
- Maintain daily bank books and accounting records
- Prepare month-end accruals and journal entries
- Maintain structured digital filing in line with group standards
- Support year-end audit processes and documentation
Business Control & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with group financial policies and internal controls
- Support implementation of global finance standards at local level
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
Key Requirements
- Diploma or professional qualification in Accountancy or related field
- 3-5 years experience in an accounting or finance role with strong hands-on exposure
- GST Reporting is a huge advantage to this role
- Experience handling AP, AR, and general accounting functions
- Proficiency in SAP Business One is highly advantageous
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Mandarin language capability is a plus (for vendor and stakeholder communication)
- High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership
