The Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the UK holding companies, including Frank Acquisition Three, Frank Acquisition Four, Filtrona Group Holdings Limited, and three additional UK-based investment holding entities. The role encompasses a broad range of functions, including accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, compliance, company secretarial matters, audit, tax, and treasury. The position also involves coordination on payroll matters and managing the purchase order process.
This is a contract role providing maternity cover from 1 July 2026 to 31 January 2027.
About the Role
- Timely and accurate full set accounting and Cognos reporting for the UK holding companies
- Monthly reconciliations of balance sheet items, including intercompany loans and balances
- Ensure compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and standards including trade compliance regulations
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and the Group Accounting Manual
- Responsible for preparing and loading into Cognos the actuals, Forecast and Budget for the holding companies
- Work with external auditors, prepare audited financial statements
- Provide support on Group reporting matters
- Work with Global Legal and Company Secretary on company secretarial matters
- Work with UK tax provider and Global Tax on UK tax filings and UK VAT returns
- Work with Global Treasury and Group Accounting and Reporting Manager on intercompany loans planning, movement, accounting and reconciliation
- Assist Global Accounting and Reporting Manager and Global Accounting and Reporting Director on group accounting activities such as month/year end group consolidation, financial review of site results, reporting to shareholders, group audit, internal controls and other projects or tasks
What we are looking for
- Degree in Accounting
- At least 2 years of audit experience in an international accounting firm and at least 4 years in a company as an Accountant managing a full set of books
- Experience in accounting, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, audit, tax and treasury
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards
- Practical experience with Cognos Controller and Planning Analytics is a plus
- Proficiency in Xero and SAP is advantageous
- Solid grasp of finance and business processes
- Able to work independently, detailed, careful and organized
- Flexible to adapt to a fast-growing organization and able to multi-task
- Familiarity with UK accounting standards, VAT submissions, and statutory compliance requirements
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Confident and mature in engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
