About the role:

This is a regional role covering Asia, responsible for day-to-day operational accounting, coordinating budgeting and forecasting activities, preparing quarterly tax submissions, and supporting the year-end statutory audit process.

In this role, you will drive financial operations and control strategies to enhance process efficiency and improve the accuracy of financial reporting. The role requires someone who is self-driven, collaborative, and confident in proposing effective solutions to meet business and accounting requirements. A continuous improvement mindset is essential, with a focus on reassessing existing processes and recommending enhancements.

Responsibilities:

1. Operations and Control

  • Serve as the point of contact for ERP system modules (Procurement, Order Processing, Inventory Management, and Finance)
  • Ensure timely resolution of operational accounting issues and queries
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Operations stakeholders to align operational and accounting strategies

2. Financial Accounting

  • Oversee key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare payment transactions, balance sheet schedules, and management reports on a timely basis
  • Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable
  • Standardize processes, strengthen internal controls, and implement best practices
  • Provide accounting advice and guidance on business activities
  • Analyze management reports and provide actionable insights
  • Manage audit activities (internal, external, and agreed-upon procedures)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Drive digital initiatives (e.g., AI, workflow automation, dashboard reporting)

3. Other Projects

  • Participate in departmental projects and support cross-functional initiatives
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) for new digital tools
  • Liaise with banks on matters such as bank guarantees, letters of credit, and loan applications when required

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Self-starter with strong teamwork skills and ability to foster collaboration across functions
  • Highly motivated and adaptable to new challenges
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work independently under tight deadlines and respond effectively to change
  • Proficient in MS Excel and systems-savvy (experience with Syteline, Workday, or Power BI is an advantage)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • CPA or CA qualification preferred
