Job Description
AKIN exists to accelerate growth for our clients towards both business and social impact. We believe the two are not in tension: the companies that understand people best tend to grow fastest, and grow in ways that matter.
We are a Singapore-based, insight-led B2B growth and technology consultancy, and our work has been recognised as both commercially and socially significant. AKIN was named Overall Local Hero at Marketing-Interactive's Agency of the Year Awards 2026, and received the President's Volunteerism & Philanthropy Award (PVPA) 2024 as a Company of Good, conferred by the President of Singapore.
Since 2012, we have helped 120+ global and regional companies grow by working at the intersection of strategy, data, AI and human behaviour. We are not a media or performance agency. We start with a clear read of the market, the competition and the culture a client operates in, and then we build and run the programmes that turn that insight into revenue and impact.
Our work spans AI-led growth strategy, AI transformation, account intelligence, brand and positioning research, go-to-market and lead generation programmes, and capability building. Our clients range from multinational technology brands to high-growth startups and social sector organisations. Our proprietary frameworks, including the Human Brand Methodology (HBM), Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and AI-BM, sit at the core of how we think and deliver.
We are a small, senior team. That means you will be close to the thinking, close to the client and close to the outcome.
The roleWe are looking for an Account Manager to run client engagements day to day, working closely with our Account Director and the founding team. You will keep programmes moving, keep clients confident and keep the quality of our thinking visible in everything we deliver.
This is not a coordination-only role. At AKIN, account managers understand the client's commercial problem well enough to contribute to the answer. You will work across research, strategy, content, data and AI workstreams, and you will be expected to roll up your sleeves when the work needs it.
What you will doClient management
- Be the day-to-day lead for your clients, building trusted relationships with marketing, sales and leadership stakeholders.
- Understand each client's business, buyers, category and growth targets, not just the scope in front of you.
- Run status meetings, workshops and review sessions with confidence, and translate client feedback into clear actions for the team.
- Raise risks, dependencies and scope questions early, and manage expectations honestly.
Engagement delivery
- Own the running of multiple engagements from brief through to delivery, reporting and optimisation.
- Write clear briefs, timelines, status reports, meeting notes and delivery plans.
- Coordinate across strategy, research, content, data and technology workstreams, as well as freelance specialists and partners.
- Support the delivery of AI-led growth strategies, AI transformation programmes, account intelligence, market and brand research, and ABM and lead generation programmes.
- Ensure every deliverable is accurate, on brief, on time and presented to AKIN's standard.
- Support regional and multi-market programmes across Southeast Asia and North Asia where applicable.
Insight and commercial contribution
- Build a working understanding of each client's customers, competitors and market, and bring that perspective into every discussion.
- Contribute to research synthesis, recommendations and presentations, applying AKIN's insight, implication, action approach.
- Apply AI-led strategic thinking to client problems: where AI changes how buyers decide, how teams work and how growth is won, and what that means for the recommendation.
- Challenge work constructively when it does not answer the client's real business question.
- Support measurement and reporting, and help shape what we recommend next.
- Use AI tools actively in your own workflow for research, analysis, drafting and reporting, and help improve how the team uses them.
Commercial management
- Support the Account Director on scopes, estimates, budgets and resourcing.
- Track effort and spend against scope, and flag change requests before work is committed.
- Support invoicing, PO tracking and account forecasting.
- Contribute to proposals, pitch responses and business cases for existing and new clients.
- Spot opportunities to grow existing relationships and extend the value AKIN delivers.
Ways of working
- Help keep our processes, documentation and governance clear and lightweight.
- Guide interns and junior team members where applicable, while staying accountable for the final output.
- Contribute to a collaborative, curious and candid team culture.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in a consultancy, agency or client-side role, managing B2B marketing, research, digital transformation or go-to-market projects.
- Confidence to independently manage client conversations and present work clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle several engagements and stakeholders at once.
- Clear, structured writing. You can turn a messy discussion into a sharp brief or status update.
- Commercial awareness, including practical experience with scopes, budgets and change requests.
- Genuine curiosity about AI transformation: how organisations adopt AI, what changes in their operating model, and what it takes to make that stick.
- An instinct for AI-led strategy, thinking about how AI reshapes markets, buyer behaviour and competitive advantage, not just how it speeds up tasks.
- Hands-on comfort with AI tools and productivity platforms, or a strong appetite to become fluent quickly.
- An interest in work that delivers social as well as commercial impact.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset, sound judgement under pressure and the confidence to escalate when needed.
- Attention to detail without losing sight of the client's broader objective.
Nice to have: B2B technology or enterprise experience, exposure to ABM or account intelligence work, a research or behavioural science background, or experience with the social sector.
Why AKIN- Work that is built to create business and social impact, at an award-recognised firm on both counts
- Direct exposure to senior strategic work and to the founder's thinking, rather than layers of hierarchy.
- A client mix spanning global technology brands, growth-stage companies and purpose-led organisations.
- Real involvement in how AI is applied to growth, strategy and transformation.
