Key Responsibilities but not limited to the followings:
- Oversee the Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing while resolving complex issues.
- Prepare and process invoices within the accounting system.
- Manage prepayments, including proper closing and accounting treatment.
- Prepare and generate financial reports within stipulated timelines.
- Monitor vessel working funds and perform calculations for deficit/surplus requirements.
- Oversee vessel disbursements and manage intercompany reconciliations.
- Respond promptly to vessel owners queries and provide required financial clarifications.
- Ensure vessel accounts are completed in compliance with owners requirements and deadlines.
- Support the Senior Vessel Accountant in day-to-day financial operations and reporting.
- Support the implementation of new accounting software to improve financial operations.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Manager to support ongoing financial operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in vessel accounting. Experience in the shipping or marine industry (e.g., ship management, ship owners, or shipping lines) preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
- Experience with vessel accounting software is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, committed, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and goals.
