I. Design support

• Drafters main task is to use software (AutoCAD) to convert the designs of engineers into technical drawings at various stages of a project.
• Keep the drawings/documents in digital format or hardcopy

II.Drafters typically do the following:

• Design plans
• Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers
• Add details to plans from their knowledge of building techniques
• Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures
• Work under the supervision of engineers
