Role:
Work with the Head of Value Driven Care, Head of Healthcare, Group Healthcare, and other key stakeholders across AIA Singapore to drive high priority Healthcare initiatives to enhance its healthcare propositions, strengthen its health and wellness ecosystem, and ensure the financial sustainability of its healthcare portfolio. This includes driving initiatives that enhance the value of healthcare services provided to our clients and working with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare solutions.
The high priority initiatives under the programme are:
- Product changes.
- Healthcare ecosystem development.
- Value-based Healthcare.
- Utilization Management.
- Pre-authorisation.
- Improving third party recovery.
- Enhancement of provider steerage and fee structure.
- Agency engagement on healthcare metrics and initiatives.
- Underwriting investigations of early claims and suspicious cases.
- Analytics and financials.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent is expected to focus deeply on one or more of these high priority initiatives and directly drive and deliver them. This includes working with the Workstream Lead to:
- Develop a deep understanding of the underlying problem and how to craft a relevant initiative to address the problem.
- Develop the concept, framework, and roadmap for the initiative, including how this will contribute to claims cost containment and improved customer experience.
- Analyze healthcare data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and to measure the impact of initiatives.
- Hands on work in driving the initiative to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Regular reporting of initiative progress to the Head of the Healthcare Programme Office, Head of Healthcare, and the Exco.
- Monitoring initiative impact to ensure that the desired outcomes are achieved for the company, that downside risks are controlled, and that initiatives are delivered within time and on budget.
- Work closely with the Head of Value Driven Care, and work in close collaboration with the various functional heads of department (e.g., Claims, Underwriting, Provider Management, Agency Management, Health Analytics, Technology) to ensure that plans are robustly crafted, have buy-in from functional units, and are executed well.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, the incumbent will need to have relevant expertise in the functional areas relevant for the initiative (e.g., Claims, Provider Management, Underwriting, Value-based Healthcare, Utilization management), experience in analyzing health data and deriving actionable insights, familiarity with the Singapore healthcare financing system and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with senior stakeholders to drive results. He or she will also need to be highly organized and be able to influence without direct authority.
- Ideally 2-3 years relevant healthcare or health insurance experience but candidates with no relevant work experience are also welcome.
- Exposure to health insurance functions and / or deep understanding of one or two relevant functions.
- Good understanding of value-based healthcare and utilization management.
- Proficient in healthcare data analysis including use of MS Excel, SQL.
- Basic understanding of the healthcare system in Singapore.
- Ability to work with external advisors, including consultants.
- Flexible, able to work in dynamic environment and across cultures and willing / able to travel if necessary.
- Strong project management and organizational skills are essential along with proven track record of delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks or projects effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong and effective interpersonal relationship skills and a team player.
