3 Months Finance Manager (Insurance) #BCL

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial operations within the insurance business. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning while ensuring compliance with insurance regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS / local regulatory standards.

• Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial close processes.

• Ensure accurate accounting treatment for insurance contracts, reserves, and premium revenue recognition.

• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with MAS regulatory reporting requirements and insurance regulatory frameworks.

• Prepare and submit regulatory returns and statutory reports.

• Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and internal audit teams during audits and reviews.

• Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

• Analyse financial performance and provide insights to senior management.

• Monitor key financial metrics and cost drivers within the insurance business.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and improve operational efficiency.

• Participate in finance transformation initiatives, system upgrades, and automation projects.

• Ensure data integrity across finance systems and reporting platforms.

Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor finance team members where applicable.

• Work closely with actuarial, underwriting, operations, and risk teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Partner with senior management to support business strategy and financial decision-making.
