Key Responsibilities:

Lead Licensing Strategy: Drive global licensing submissions, renewals, and strategic regulatory filings across key growth markets (Europe, LatAm, SEA, Africa).
Regulator Engagement: Serve as the primary legal liaison with financial regulators, central banks, and external counsel on regulatory matters.
Regulatory Governance: Interpret global financial services, crypto, and payment regulations to advise executive leadership on strategic risk and expansion boundaries.
Cross-Border Compliance: Partner with Product, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure business models and cross-border settlement flows align with local laws.
Commercial Support: Draft and negotiate regulatory-driven agreements, joint ventures, and strategic banking partner contracts.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and develop a small team of 1–2 junior legal counsel / legal specialists, assigning workflows, overseeing output, and supporting their professional growth.

Requirements:

8+ years PQE with training from top international law firms or leading tech/fintech companies.
Proven track record executing financial services, payment, or digital asset (VASP) license applications.
Deep knowledge of global payment regulations, central bank rules, and digital asset compliance frameworks.
Languages: Business fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to cover global and regional markets.
Strong communication and cross-border stakeholder management skills.
