About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Senior Audit Specialist to join our Finance team. Your mission will be to safeguard the integrity of our financial reporting by reviewing and verifying periodic financial statements and regulatory return data, ensuring all related business processes remain risk-management compliant. You will serve as a key bridge between internal departments, external auditors, tax agents and other corporate service agents to ensure seamless financial operations and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Verification & Accuracy: Review and verify periodic financial statement data, cross-check for anomalies or errors, and ensure all reporting is backed by sufficient and appropriate audit evidence.
Regulatory Compliance: Regularly collaborate with the Legal and Compliance teams combined with own research to stay updated on financial regulatory requirements; provide actionable guidance to the Accounting department regarding necessary changes to meet evolving regulations.
Audit Planning & Coordination: Assist the Head of Audit in planning and coordinating external audits throughout the audit cycle, managing audit preparation, internal coordination, and information requests to ensure key milestones are met and audit deliverables are provided accurately and on time.
Governance & Risk Management: Review and evaluate internal governance processes to ensure alignment with internal risk management frameworks and external regulatory requirements, and recommend improvements where necessary to strengthen controls and address identified gaps.
Tax Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate with external tax agents on annual tax calculations, reviewing and resolving tax-related matters to ensure accurate tax figures are reflected in the annual financial statements.
And other ad-hoc assignments as directed by the line manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CPA, CIA, or equivalents) are strongly preferred.
At least 5 years experience in external financial audit, internal audit, financial due diligence, or any of the above combined. In-house experience in finance teams of financial institutions is an advantage.
Strong communication skills and effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with regional stakeholders across APAC office.
Demonstrates strong initiative, sense of ownership, and high attention to details and accuracy.
Strong ability to identify and resolve financial and internal control issues, perform information gathering / analysis / summarization, and formulate well-supported and evidence-based conclusions.
Some travel may be required.
