Job Description

Our client requires a Director of Sales to set the commercial strategy across rooms and events, balancing corporate, group and leisure segments while leading a high-performing sales team. This role carries full accountability for sales targets, forecasting, and market strategy, with genuine influence over how the property performs commercially.

Responsibilities

Set the strategy connecting rooms and events sales, ensuring balanced focus across both revenue streams
Determine resource allocation across corporate, group and leisure segments based on market behaviour and demand shifts
Drive sales for a significant events business spanning multiple venues, covering corporate off-sites, incentives, launches, and celebrations
Establish, track, and defend sales targets, forecasts, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics
Ensure accurate sales forecasting and genuine Customer Relationship Management (CRM) discipline across the team
Monitor competitive landscape, distribution channels, and customer insights to inform commercial strategy
Manage, mentor, and motivate the sales team to develop talent and drive results
Leverage global sales offices, an international loyalty base, and partner channels to maximise business opportunities

Requirements

Minimum 8 years of experience in a corporate or business development role within the hotel industry
At least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven track record identifying and securing new business across corporate, leisure, and group segments
Deep understanding of hospitality market dynamics, distribution channels, and customer segments
Confidence establishing sales targets, forecasts, KPIs, and performance metrics, and holding a team accountable to them
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
Flair for presentations, both in-person and virtual
Keen eye for detail and a creative, customer-focused approach to problem-solving
Ability to manage multiple priorities and ongoing projects simultaneously
Proactive, goal-oriented attitude with a gift for building lasting business partnerships

Preferred Qualifications

Prior knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems such as Opera or Delphi
Relevant diploma or degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management
