We are looking for a Steamer (Shang Palace) to join our team!

Job Responsibilities

Prepare and cook dim sum, seafood, meats, vegetables, and other dishes using steaming techniques in accordance with Shang Palace standards.
Ensure all steamed dishes are prepared consistently and presented according to established recipes and plating guidelines.
Perform daily mise en place and prepare ingredients required for steaming operations.
Monitor steaming times, temperatures, and cooking processes to maintain product quality and food safety.
Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and quality before preparation.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of steaming stations, kitchen equipment, and work areas at all times.
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food products in compliance with HACCP standards.
Assist with inventory control, stock replenishment, and minimizing food wastage.
Support the Chefs and culinary team during daily operations, promotions, and special events.
Adhere to all hotel policies, food safety regulations, and workplace health and safety standards.

Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a Chinese kitchen, preferably in a hotel or high-volume restaurant environment.
Experience in preparing and cooking steamed Chinese dishes, dim sum, or Cantonese cuisine.
Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and Chinese culinary practices.
Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, including HACCP requirements.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality standards.
Strong teamwork and communication skills with a positive work attitude.
Attention to detail and commitment to food consistency and presentation.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
