We're partnering with a fast-growing data centre developer with an active pipeline across Southeast Asia to hire an Assistant / Mechanical Design Manager based in Singapore. This is a senior technical role within the Design Delivery function, reporting to the Engineering Lead. You'll own mechanical design across multiple concurrent greenfield and fit-out DC projects spanning regional metros - from Basis of Design through to construction drawing validation - with a strong focus on reliability, sustainability, and speed to market.

What you'll be doing

Lead mechanical design delivery across multiple regional DC projects simultaneously, within budget and programme
Develop tender and construction drawings, draft tender specifications, and conduct technical evaluations
Review equipment specifications, shop drawings, and construction drawings to ensure design is well-coordinated, maintainable, and code-compliant
Own design quality assurance from 30% through to 90% design stage and construction drawing sign-off
Perform technical downloads to construction and operations teams and provide problem-solving support on site
Drive authority pre-consultation and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Develop standardised construction methodology, inspection checklists, and material specifications
Attend technical interviews with clients and vendors
Design for next-generation AI workloads

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
Design experience in Data Centre / substation or other critical facilities is a MUST
Working knowledge of both mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, power distribution, fire safety, BMS/ELV, backup systems, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and design documentation.
Good communication and coordination skills to liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and project teams.
Comfortable with on-site work including site inspections, safety compliance, and physical site conditions.
