Job Purpose

To perform high-precision welding (ARC/MIG/TIG) on marine and offshore structures, ensuring all welds meet required quality, safety, and classification standards for durability and corrosion resistance in marine environments.

Key Responsibilities

Execute welding on stainless steel, aluminium, carbon steel, and alloy materials for marine applications
Perform fabrication, installation, and repair of ship structures, piping systems, tanks, and offshore components
Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
Prepare materials prior to welding (cutting, grinding, cleaning, fit-up)
Set up and maintain welding equipment, including shielding gas (argon) and welding parameters
Ensure all welds comply with applicable marine standards and specifications set by classification bodies such as American Bureau of Shipping, DNV, and Lloyd's Register
Conduct visual inspection of welds and rectify defects where required
Support Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and quality inspections
Adhere strictly to workplace safety procedures, including working in confined spaces and at heights
Maintain proper housekeeping and care of tools and equipment

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum secondary education or equivalent
Valid ARC/MIG/TIG welding certification with P92 experience preferred
Proven experience in marine, shipyard, or offshore welding works
Familiarity with marine-grade materials (e.g., duplex stainless steel, aluminium alloys)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and WPS
Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ISO)
Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments
