This is a newly created position within a well-established global maritime company. The Team Lead, Group Accounting, will play a central role in overseeing the group accounting function and leading a growing team. The individual will report directly to senior finance leadership and is expected to grow with the role as the organisation expands.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a Group Accounting team, with responsibility expected to grow significantly over time
Oversee month-end close, group consolidation and financial reporting
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to international headquarters
Assist in driving process improvements and champion digital transformation within the finance function
Collaborate with finance teams across multiple geographies and time zones
Liaise with external auditors and support the annual audit process

Requirements

Proven experience in a team leadership role within accounting or finance - this is a must
Comfortable managing and coordinating with teams across different countries and time zones
Experience reporting into an international headquarters outside of Singapore
Strong technical accounting skills with solid knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation
CPA, CA or equivalent qualification a must
Shipping or maritime industry background is an advantage, though not required - willingness to learn the industry is key
Proactive, self-driven and internationally minded
Genuinely embraces change and digital innovation - this is a fast-evolving environment and the team needs someone who leads change positively
Comfortable communicating and collaborating across cultures
