This is a newly created position within a well-established global maritime company. The Team Lead, Group Accounting, will play a central role in overseeing the group accounting function and leading a growing team. The individual will report directly to senior finance leadership and is expected to grow with the role as the organisation expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a Group Accounting team, with responsibility expected to grow significantly over time
- Oversee month-end close, group consolidation and financial reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to international headquarters
- Assist in driving process improvements and champion digital transformation within the finance function
- Collaborate with finance teams across multiple geographies and time zones
- Liaise with external auditors and support the annual audit process
Requirements
- Proven experience in a team leadership role within accounting or finance - this is a must
- Comfortable managing and coordinating with teams across different countries and time zones
- Experience reporting into an international headquarters outside of Singapore
- Strong technical accounting skills with solid knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation
- CPA, CA or equivalent qualification a must
- Shipping or maritime industry background is an advantage, though not required - willingness to learn the industry is key
- Proactive, self-driven and internationally minded
- Genuinely embraces change and digital innovation - this is a fast-evolving environment and the team needs someone who leads change positively
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating across cultures
