Youth Development Basketball Coach (Full-Time / Part-Time)
Role Overview:
The Youth Development Coach anchors the Starter and Development programmes across academy satellite locations. This role specialises in youth pedagogy: building sound fundamental mechanics (footwork, ball-handling, shooting form), fostering court confidence, and maintaining high engagement and energy.
Key Responsibilities:
Foundational Training: Deliver structured, high-energy sessions for Starter and Development cohorts (ages 6–14) emphasizing physical literacy, motor coordination, and baseline fundamentals.
Parent Engagement: Serve as the primary on-ground touchpoint for parents at designated venues, communicating player progress and term milestones.
Apprentice & Floor Management: Supervise court setup, equipment management, and coordinate assistant/intern support during high-density slots.
Talent Scouting: Identify standout developmental players ready for acceleration trials and liaise with the Technical Lead.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of coaching youth basketball (schools, clubs, or community clinics).
Collegiate, varsity, or competitive club playing background.
Level 1 coaching certification (or relevant sports coaching/kinesiology diploma).
Exceptional enthusiasm, patience, and classroom management skills for young athletes.
Valid First Aid & CPR/AED certification.
