Yardi Backend Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Yardi integration and API development: Design, build, and maintain integrations with Yardi and other Property Management Systems (PMS). Develop and enhance API-based workflows for lease, deposit, and financial data synchronization.

• Feature development: Build and ship backend features that support SparkNeural's core products, including deposit management, refunds, and balance recovery. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.

• Troubleshooting and issue resolution: Investigate and resolve issues related to lease data, deposit balances, and transaction flows. Perform deep-dive troubleshooting across systems to identify root causes and implement fixes.

• Bug fixing and system reliability: Own and resolve bugs across services, improving system stability and performance. Proactively identify edge cases and prevent recurring issues.

• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Operations teams to resolve complex issues and improve workflows tied to Yardi and financial move-out processes.

• Documentation and knowledge sharing: Document integrations, APIs, troubleshooting steps, and known issues to support internal teams and ongoing scalability.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of backend software development experience in production environments, with strong proficiency in Java and Spring (Boot)

• Hands-on experience working with Yardi APIs, data structures, and integrations, including troubleshooting lease data, resident records, and security deposit workflows

• Strong experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems; experience with RealPage or Entrata is a plus

• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL preferred), with the ability to analyze, reconcile, and

troubleshoot data discrepancies across systems

• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and external integrations

• Experience with messaging systems such as AWS SNS/SQS or similar event-driven

architectures

• Strong unit and integration testing practices with a focus on reliability and maintainability

• Experience in multifamily workflows and payment systems is a plus
