Role Description The WSHO/ECO role is a full-time, on-site position based in Singapore. The individual will oversee workplace safety and health matters, conduct regular site inspections, and ensure compliance with local regulations and company safety policies. Day-to-day tasks include identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and monitoring implementation of safety measures. The role also involves preparing and maintaining safety documentation, coordinating safety training, and participating in safety meetings and audits. The WSHO/ECO will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture and environmental responsibility on all construction activities.

Qualifications

• Relevant certification as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and/or Environmental Control Officer (ECO) recognized in Singapore.
• Knowledge of Singapore workplace safety and health regulations, environmental requirements, and BCA/WSH Council guidelines.
• Experience conducting site safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits in construction environments.
• Ability to prepare safety reports, maintain documentation, and develop safety procedures, method statements, and emergency response plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage site personnel, conduct briefings and toolbox meetings, and influence safe work practices.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet regulatory and project deadlines.
• Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations) for reporting and training materials.
• Prior experience in building construction projects in Singapore is preferred; familiarity with main contractor operations is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site, adapt to changing work conditions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
