[What the role is]
Lead and manage all Workplace Safety, Health & Security related matters to ensure full compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, subsidiary legislations, and applicable regulations, including Risk Management Regulations and bizSAFE Level 3 certification requirements, and future readiness while providing leadership, mentorship and guidance to enhance workplace safety, health and security in Nanyang Polytechnic.
[What you will be working on]
- Lead and manage WSHS Steering Committee as Secretary in NYP:
- Coordinate Meetings: Schedule WSHS meetings, prepare agendas, and circulate minutes.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate documentation of monthly safety audits, reports, and committee activities. Support appointment processes and maintain updated committee member lists.
- Communicate Updates: Share safety alerts, MOM guidelines, and SGSecure information with stakeholders.
- Track Compliance: Monitor corrective actions and support bizSAFE certification processes.
- Support Events: Assist with risk assessments and safety readiness for major campus activities.
- Ensuring regulatory requirements from government agencies and statutory boards are complied with.
- Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, awareness and WSHS related training in the campus.
- Lead, organise, oversee, and carry out emergency response activities, exercises, fire evacuation drills, and other activities related to WSHS.
- Lead and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety, health and security practices.
- Lead and review department risk assessments when required and manage NYP Safety Management System.
- Oversee and approve Notification to Carry out Work (NCOW) to ensure activities comply with regulations before start of work.
[What we are looking for]
- Possess a relevant degree or diploma, along with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related work experience.
- Must be certified and registered as a WSH Officer with MOM (Ministry of Manpower).
- Must be with Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification registered with SCDF.
- Familiarity with Fire Safety Systems, Singapore Standards, Building & Fire Regulations.
- Good interpersonal, leadership and communication (verbal & written) skills.
- Data analytic or relevant IT knowledge is a bonus.
- Experienced in managing outsourced service providers.
- Knowledge and experience in environmental sustainability is an add advantages.
