Job Summary
You will ensure operational compliance with safety regulations and implement effective safety measures to maintain a secure work environment in tunneling construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operations comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Control regulations and statutory requirements
- Implement, monitor, and maintain safety measures aligned with the Workplace Health and Safety Act to prevent workplace hazards
- Enforce all safety requirements and internal safety rules to uphold a safe working environment
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify safety risks and execute corrective actions promptly
- Deliver safety awareness training, programs, and initiatives to educate and engage employees on safe practices
- Compile and maintain accurate safety reports, records, and conduct daily safety inspections to track compliance
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support safety and operational objectives
Required competencies and certifications
- Possess relevant safety certification such as Advanced Certificate in WSH
- Minimum 3 years of tunneling experience in the construction industry
- Familiarity with statutory requirements related to the WSH Act and other safety regulations
- Availability to work 6 days a week, including weekends and public holidays when required
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in tunneling projects, preferably MRT projects, is highly advantageous
